Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing are 2 of the most important concepts in not only web design but in business marketing. If you're not showing up on the first page of the SERP's (Search Engine Results Pages) on google or yahoo then you're buried in the back. They say that on average, people NEVER look passed the first page of search results on any search engine. This is why I've added that heavy piece of ammo to my design arsenal.

Through the use of meta tags and description, keyword phrasing, keyword tagging throughout your site, header tags, links, etc. you increase your chances of ranking high on the SERP's. However that's not always enough. I'm fluent with this type of designing and also incorporating url submission, dmoz listing, google Adwords, PPC, etc.
